Last Tuesday evening we saw mixed fortunes for the Blackzone-coached riders racing the Spokes RT Kick Starter road race. Rory Spencer took fifth on the night and was also the first junior over the line as well as being the youngest rider in a strong field. This is Rory’s first year riding as a junior after stepping up from the youth category and is also his first road race of the season, so overall it was a very promising result from a rider with a lot of promise.

Unfortunately though Murray Lawson was not so lucky and got caught up in a crash near the end, sustaining a broken elbow that will keep him confined to the turbo for a number of weeks and will see him miss some races in this period. We wish Murray, and everyone else involved in the crash, a speedy recovery.
