Murray Lawson Posts Back-To-Back Results On The Road

This weekend saw another solid ride by Blackzone Coached junior rider, Murray Lawson who finished first placed junior rider and sixth overall in the Spokes Race Team Scottish Road Race yesterday. Murray missed the winning break but was able to get away from the bunch on his own in the final ascent of the infamous Suie climb which they had to tackle four times.

Murray is restricted to junior gears which puts him at a disadvantage on many parts of the course. But he’s not a guy for excuses and just gets on with it. We have worked a lot on his fatigue resistance over the winter and this was apparent today as his segment time up the last climb would have definitely put him on the podium had he been in the break.

The result comes just one week after the Spokes Racing Team rider finished as the highest placed Scottish rider and only 35-seconds down on the eventual winner at the Junior Tour of Yorkshire stage race. A busy couple of weeks racing coming up for Murray as he gets ready for the prestigious Junior CiCLE Classic in Leicestershire which he has been selected for. Time to get cracking!
